According to experts of SOM Company (USA), realization of Perm’s master plan will lead to positive changes in the city.
During two days experts from KCAP and SOM conducted master classes on urban planning for Perm architects and students of Perm Technical University. Mr. Jackson spoke about SOM's international experience. According to him, it is important to respond to individual context and enable integration of both the natural and built environment.
Foreign architects say that Perm has all resources to develop creative solutions that meet both aesthetic and pragmatic requirements, allowing buildings to positively impact the environment, whilst addressing the specific needs of inhabitants. For this, it is crucial to make public spaces such as a quay, minor rivers valleys and other recreation spaces more comfortable and accessible.
Perm City Administration has been working in this direction. Many city parks and forests have been reconstructed, and the riverfront is being improved.
